The gallery is delighted to present its first monographic exhibition dedicated to Michel Haas. Desceased in 2019, his estate is now exclusively represented by the Dina Vierny Gallery.
Michel Haas is a frugal character who always remained discreet on his biography. He was born in Paris in 1934 and studied philosophy, which occupies a primordial place in his production, as well as Renaissance painting which he studied intensely. His work is also nourished by the many solo journeys he makes in remote parts of the world, like an adventurer.
“Our first encounter with the work of Michel Haas dates back to our childhood, when an exhibition was dedicated to him at the Maillol Museum where we lived. We had kept a deep memory of this exhibition, a sign of an intense and sincere work. It is therefore only natural that we wanted to bring this magnificent work back to light.”
Pierre and Alexandre Lorquin, gallery directors.
